Race description (24 November)
Coverage from the race last day of racing season in 2013.
Nitisa victoriously finished the season
Quana de Bourgogne was leading before Qualmina. Other horses trotted a few lengths behind them. Nitisa Josselyn and following her Vahina du Lys broke up from peloton at the turn. Mares started in pursuit of the fleeing rivals. Quana de Bourgogne gradually weakened. In the middle of the straight line she was overtaken by Qualmina, which was later approached by Nitisa Josselyn, attacking from the field. Just before the winning post, Nitisa driven by Wiesław Kałuża, beat a younger rival for the ninth time this season. Third place was defended by Quana de Bourgogne before prettily finishing Vahine du Lys.
The owner of the winner is Ewa Kałuża, wife of trainer Wiesław Kałuża.
Bilberry and Dasko again
Like two weeks ago, only Bilberry (61.5) and Dasko (59) struggled for top places in this race. The stallion went after Kaprys (48.5), escaping from the start, while Bilberry followed them both. The Czech jockey Tomaš Lukášek led her along the straight line between horses. The mare accelerated and immediately moved up to second place. She successfully attacked Dasko just ahead of the winning post. Third was Szampanka (56.5), and the fourth was Hermione Marie (51).
The breeder of the winning mare is Andrzej Zieliński, also co-owner of the mare, along with Joanna Mierzawa Zielińska, D. Mierzwa and trainer Patryk Wróblewski.
Ahmad won in a good style
Savvannah Award (series B). Milan AB dictated slow pace before Sange and Ahmad. Nicolas galloped last. Milan AB dropped off on the straight line, meanwhile, Anton Turgaev riding on Ahmad attacked in the middle of the track. Nicolas raced on the outside. He also galloped brilliantly and approached his rival in the middle of the straight line. After a while, however, Ahmad improved and gained a safe lead. Wilden proved to be better than Sange in the battle for third place.
Breeder and owner of Ahmad is Zbigniew Górski.
Ganim defeated Auza
Frula was leading before Araxus. Elegra and Auza were galloping near the channel and Ganim followed them. It’s just the three of them that broke up on the straight and took the front positions. Elena was the first to give up, while Ganima, ridden by Magdalena Szabla, overtook favoured Auza at the end. Fourth was Merlini.
Ganima, bred by I. Malinowska, belongs to trainer Maciej Malinowski.
Domitto took over favourites
The high pace was imposed by Persei, next to which (at the channel) Sundari ran. Chinolina got faster and faster on the outside, and Domitto followed all of them. Chinolina, galloping along the wide curve, weakened on the straight, while Domitto, stimulated with whip by Anton Turgaev, moved on at the channel. Persei overtook in the end and managed to repel the attack of Sundari.
The winner, bred by POL-KAUFRING, is owned by Janusz Romanowski “EXPERT-HOST”. Kasztan is trained by Michał Romanowski.
Faoud ‘G’ led and won
Liliya Reznikova-Wróblewska decided to dictate the pace riding on the highly favoured gelding Faoud ‘G’. She rode the stallion with effort. She maintained the lead of two lengths over Al Kazar de Chalein, Paliador and Overton, all of them fighting for second place and finishing in the order mentioned.
The gelding bred in the Netherlands belongs to Murat Bairamkułov who prepares him for Służewiec under the substantive supervision of Józef Siwonia.
Secure winning of Nejran
Tudello was leading before Nejran and Sopran Clokeer, galloping on the outside. The latter began to break out a little to the field. Meanwhile, Nejran, ridden by Marek Brezina, came in first place and distanced from his rivals. Sopran Clokeer managed to overtake Tudello in the fight for second place, and the fourth was Agra.
The owners of Nejrana are Iwno Horse Stud Farm and Maciej Janikowski.
Predator overtook Dolomiti
Neman Award. Polemos was leading before Navos and they were attacked on the straight by the finishing Dolomiti. Polemos persisted, and Dabby also tried to take part in fight. Meanwhile, Predator, galloping in the distance at the end of the group, was gaining speed. He galloped splendidly and, rode with effort by Marek Brezina, beat Dolomiti just before the finish. Polemos defended third place before Dabby.
The co-owners of Predator are breeder Andrzej Zieliński, his wife Joanna, D. Mierzawa and trainer Maciej Janikowski.
Suo finishing a head before Szarif
End-of-Season Award. Slow pace was dictated by Nerio, which accelerated in the corner and tried to continue breaking away on a straight. However, Young Boy and Suo galloped better. They fought for the victory. In the end, Suo gained an advantage over his rival, meanwhile, Szarif rushed to fight, attacking from a further position. He strongly attacked the favourite at the winning post, but Suo maintained a minimal lead under triumphant Anton Turgaev. The third was Young Boy, and the fourth was last year’s winner Tropical Fly.
